All Metals Recycling's been serving Northern New England since 1974.
The business was founded by land surveyor Richard Towns as Green Mountain Sanitation, a waste handling company. It didn't take long for him to realize the real value in the business was in recycling, so he began focusing on recycling construction debris and metals.By '95, metal recycling constituted most of the business's activity, so Richard sold the waste business; and his sons, Robbin and Ryan, founded All Metals Recycling, firmly focused on metal recycling.
Brother Randy joined the firm in 2007, and Rachel Towns, the company's third generation, came on board in '11.The company's grown greatly over the years, becoming one of the largest private employers in Hardwick. In '95 we had just four employees and a couple of trucks. Now we employee 30 people and have an entire fleet of trucks and heavy equipment. In 2008, we added another scrapyard: in Williston.
AMR offers to businesses like yours:
With AMR, recycling is earth-friendly in more ways than one
Metal recycling is the ultimate recycling process, because everything is eventually turned into a new product.
Green facilities
Our scrapyards are designed to minimize impact to ground soil: We do all of our recycling on top of impermeable concrete surfaces.
And we're always looking for ways to improve our carbon footprint. Our transportation fleet uses earth-friendly, high-miles-to-the-gallon bio-diesel, and we've managed to cut our emissions by 40-50 percent by carefully managing our routes so we run our trucks loaded both ways. Dad would've been especially proud of that.
Reuse it as-is
At AMR, we know it's even better if we can recycle your item as-is.
That's why we sell most of the tires we accept for re-use as tires. And we donate a good many of them to Wheels for Warmth. That Central Vermont charity re-sells them with proceeds supporting the Central Vermont Community Action Council's emergency and supplemental fuel assistance program to help residents on fixed incomes and with limited resources with home heating fuel.We drain all gasoline from junk cars we recycle and re-use it. Used waste oil gets converted to heating oil.
Employees, too
AMR even recycles employees: More than a couple of people who started out working for our father have returned to work for us years down the road.
Manufacturers, municipalities, plumbers, electricians, auto dealers and garages, general contractors and builders ... we've been helping business of all sizes in Vermont, New Hampshire and Northern New York just like yours maximize the value of their scrap metal for decades.
Top dollar
We've gotten pretty good at what we do, but we don't rest on our laurels. The AMR team's constantly researching and analyzing the metals market and sourcing our materials to multiple buyers in carefully selected markets ... all to maximize the price we pay you.
And with AMR, there's no waiting: We pay same day or on request. We even offer pre-payment options. Seriously.
Anyway you like it
We can set up a plan custom-tailored to your business's needs. Bring your metals to us, or we'll pick it up.AMR provides metal rolloff container service, tractor trailer service, precious/non-ferrous metal pickup, demolition hauling, on-site cleanup and removal services, on-site shearing, de-construction services and on-site crushing. We offer a direct mill purchase of catalytic converters plus on-site removal and grading. And because more and more people are realizing the value of scrap metals, AMR offers secure containers that minimize theft. No matter your business's needs, AMR can suit them.
Honest, reputable service
Our father founded this business in 1974. We consider good service a family tradition and a particular point of pride. Ask anyone who's worked with AMR for their metal recycling, transportation or demolition needs, and they'll tell you: We're straight shooters.
We offer top to bottom demolition services; hauling services, including rolloff or tractor trailer; containers; interior demolition; on-site shearing; property clean-up services; and concrete and wood recycling options.Plenty of demolition jobs result in hazardous material that needs to be disposed of in a safe, responsible manner. AMR can arrange the logistics of hazardous materials abatement. With AMR it's truly one-stop shopping, and a whole lot less hassle for you.
