The Albertville-Boaz Recycling Center began its operations in March 2009 as a joint venture with the two cities. Being a unique rural area we have opened our facility to many outlying communities. Our service area includes cities within the Marshall County area, Blount, DeKalb and Etowah Counties.

Beginning with just collections of newspapers then later adding PET #1 plastic. The Albertville-Boaz Recycling has grown over the years and added many different products which today includes: newspapers, magazines, telephone books, hardback and paper back books, office and junk mail, all types of cardboard, shredded paper, PET #1 plastic, HD #2, #3 and up plastic, hard plastic, metal, aluminum, glass, electronics and styrofoam.

In August of 2011 the Albertville-Boaz Recycling Authority developed a board of directors that oversees the day to day operations by virture of hiring Jeannie Courington as the executive director. Jeannie Courington was named the Alabama Recycler of the Year in 2013 by the Alabama Recycling Coalition.

We partnered with KAB in 2010-11 for the Recycle Bowl, out of the top 8 winners 7 of those were from the Albertville School system, Marshall Christian School was named as a State and National Winner also in 2012 and 2013 they were selected as a state winner. In 2014 Albertville Middle School was selected as a state winner, with 6 of the schools being in the top 6 in the state.

The Albertville-Boaz Recycling Center works with many professional organizations locally and statewide they include AEC, SWANA, NAID, ADEM, KAB-Albertville, Albertville Chamber of Commerce and the Boaz Chamber of Commerce.

The Albertville-Boaz Recycling Center is located in the city of Albertville at 311 Sand Mountain Drive. The hours of operation are Monday - Saturday 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Secure Shred is a professional paper shredding company providing the most secure, efficient, simple and cost effective plan available for destroying a company's confidential information.  Secure Shred provides complete on-site  document destruction services at your facility where you can view the destruction of the confidental information. The mission of Secure Shred is to provide a cost-effective document disposal service that protects our customers demand for security.  Secure Shred is insured for your protection. Secure Shred works in conjunction with the Albertville-Boaz Recycling Center.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Visit our facility and see how we are making recycling work in our community.  Our goal is to educate citizens about the benefits of waste reduction and recycling as well as the process that recycable materials go through to become new products.  Tours of the facility are available upon appointment.  Community civic groups, school field trips, church groups etc. are welcome to visit our facility.
