SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The data published by the Mining Intelligence states that the world’s top ten gold mining companies together produced 27.48 million ounces (Moz) of gold worth approximately $48 million during the previous year. The combined production by top ten miners accounted for approximately 22% of the total market share. It must be noted that the global gold production had registered marginal decline by 1% in 2020.
The leading gold producer in 2020 was Denver-headquartered Newmont, which produced 5.88 Moz of gold. In second place was Canada-based Barrick Gold, whose gold production totalled 4.84 Moz in 2020. The Russian gold miner Polyus was ranked third, with an annual output of 2.87 Moz during the previous year.

Top Ten Gold Mines by Production in Canada
The others in the top ten list, along with their production (in Moz) are as follows: AngloGold Ashanti (2.81), Kinross Gold (2.38), Gold Fields (2.13), Newcrest Mining (2.06), Agnico Eagle (1.73), Polymetal International (1.40) and Harmony Gold (1.38).
The North American miners topped the list.The only American company in the list was Newmont, whereas three Canadian companies-Barrick Gold, Kinross Gold and Agnico Eagle managed to feature in the list. Polyus and Polymetal were the tro Russian companies in the list. Although, China accounted for nearly 11% of the total global gold output, no Chinese company featured in the top ten list.
