World Steel Association Announced Proud Winners of 11th Steelie Awards

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) announced winners of the 11^th Steelie Awards. The declaration of the awards was made on Wednesday, 14^th October, 2020. The winners were selected from the shortlist announced earlier.

Tata Steel Limited was named the winner of the ‘Excellence in digital communications’ category. The shortlisted companies for the award included JSW Steel Limited, Metinvest Holding LLC, POSCO, Tata Steel Limited and Ternium. The ‘Innovation of the year’ award was won by JFE Steel Corporation for the development of resource saving type Si gradient steel sheet for high-speed motors. Also, POSCO’s Triton Sea Forestation Project was adjudged the winner of ‘Excellence in sustainability’ award.

The tool for making use of LCA on carbon trading market policy by China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited won the ‘Excellence in Life Cycle Assessment’ award. The ‘Excellence in education and training’ category of award went to Tata Steel Limited. The winner of the ‘Excellence in communications programmes’ was JSW Steel Limited for their program titled ‘Roof to Dream’. Also, Colin Richardson, Editor, Argus Media Paul Lim of Fastmarkets was selected as the winner of ‘Journalist of the year’ award.

The Steelie awards, judged by selected expert panels, recognize outstanding contributions to global steel industry by individuals and member companies.
