SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): WestRock Company- the leading paper and packaging products manufacturer announced major expansion project at its Claremont, North Carolina manufacturing plant.
As per the latest press release issued by the office of the North Carolina Governor, the company plans to launch a $47 million expansion project at the plant. The investment is expected to significantly expand the size of its Consumer Packaging manufacturing plant. Upon completion of the project, the company hopes to add 50 new jobs at the plant. WestRock intends to add 285,000 square feet of additional space to the existing facility, which mainly serves the region’s beverage and food industries.
The project has already received assistance of $125,000 from The One North Carolina Fund, in support of the project.
Patrick Kivits, president of WestRock Consumer Packaging stated that the company is proud to be a part of the Claremont community and that it looks forward to growing its team in the area. The facility is an important part of WestRock’s production and it is pleased to make this investment in Catawba County, he added.
Meantime, N.C. Senator Dean Proctor appreciated the works of local and state officials in helping the company increase its investment in the community.
