WestRock Concludes Acquisition of German Packaging Firm

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): WestRock Company announced that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of German packaging assets. The initial announcement with regards to the company’s plans to purchase all of the primary and secondary packaging assets of the Germany-based Schlüter Print Pharma Packaging- a leading supplier of leaflets and booklets, was made in August this year.

According to company press release, Schlüter Print Pharma Packaging has now become part of West Rock’s Multi Packaging Solutions business. Also, the purchase transaction has helped the company to expand its capability to offer enhanced solutions to healthcare packaging clients in the Europe, capitalizing on the high reputation of Schlüter as a high-quality supplier to customers in the pharmaceuticals and automotive industry.

Schluter, currently has a production area of 13,000 sq metre, with additionally available area of 90,000 sq metre for further expansion. The company uses state-of-the-art ultraviolet printing technology to produce film solutions on a wide range of materials including aluminum, paper and laminated films. It also produces secondary packaging products including folding boxes and booklets, as per customer requirements.

WestRock also expects to complete the multi-billion dollar acquisition of Kapstone Paper and Packaging by the end of third quarter or in the fourth quarter of the current year, thereby resulting in increased market share for containerboard in North America.
