SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The following report provides the weekly global market price trends for the various scrap metal categories on the Scrap Monster Price Index for the week of March 14–20, 2025:
Copper Scrap Prices
The price of copper scrap saw a notable increase of 4.53% over the previous week.
North America
The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright increased by 4.43% over the previous week, while #1 Copper Wire & Tubing increased by 4.53% from the start of the week to end the week at $4.85 a pound. Likewise, the cost of #2 Copper Wire & Tubing went up from $4.54 to $4.75 per pound, an increase of $0.21.

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index increased by 4.43% for the week, from $4.74 to $4.95 per pound, as of Thursday, March 20, 2025. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing went from $4.64 to $4.85 per pound, a slight rise from the prior week. By the end of the week, the price of copper wire and tubing had increased by 4.63% to $4.75 per pound.
USA Midwest
Over the past week, #1 Copper Bare Bright's price has increased by 4.53%. At the end of the week, #1 Copper Wire & Tubing saw a little increase of 4.63%, rising from $4.54 to $4.75 per pound. In the #2 Copper Wire and Tubing category, the price of copper scrap increased by 4.73%. Over the course of the week, the price per pound went up from $4.44 to $4.65.
USA West Coast
According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright increased 4.36% throughout the week, from $4.82 to $5.03 per pound. This week, the price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing went up a little, from $4.72 to $4.93 a pound. By the conclusion of the week, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing was priced at $4.83 per pound, up 4.55%.
China
The previous week, which concluded on March 20, 2025, saw a minor increase in the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the Index. Brass Scrap Prices
The prices for brass scrap inched higher by 2.62% from the previous week.
North America
Red Brass increased from $2.75 to $2.82 per pound by the conclusion of the week. Yellow Brass also increased on the Index. The price of the commodity rose from $2.60 to $2.67 per pound, a 2.69 percent rise.

China
The week ending March 20, 2025, saw a slight increase in the price of Red Brass and Yellow Brass. According to the Index, the price of Red Brass increased from CNY 38,900 per MT to CNY 39,100, while the price of Yellow Brass increased by 0.55% week over week to end at CNY 36,250 per MT.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
The Index's aluminum scrap prices recorded marginal decline of 1.06% over the previous week.
North America
The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire went down from $1.21 per pound the previous week to $1.20 per pound, a 0.83% decline. In the week ending March 20, 2025, the price of 6063 Extrusions dropped by 1.03% compared to the previous week. The price of Old Cast declined by 1.20% on the Index. Furthermore, UBC's prices decreased by 1.19% per week.

E.C. Aluminum Wire prices dropped from CNY 19,750 per MT to CNY 19,700 per MT, a 0.25% decrease on the Index. In addition, compared to the previous week, the price of 6063 Extrusions dropped by 0.27% to CNY 18,600 per MT. As of March 20, 2025, Old Cast's price on the Index decreased by 0.27%. Over the course of the week, UBC prices fell by 0.39%, closing at CNY 12,650 per MT.
Europe
For the whole week, the price of Old Cast remained fixed at $1,050 a tonne. Additionally, according to the ScrapMonster Index, UBC prices stayed at $1,250 per tonne, unchanged from the previous week.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
The prices of Stainless Steel scrap recorded no variation over the previous week’s prices.
North America
An examination of 304 SS Solid pricing trend indicates that the commodity's price recorded no change over the prior week. The product's pricing remained constant at $0.68 per pound.
