SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The following report provides the weekly global market price trends for the various scrap metal categories on the Scrap Monster Price Index for the week of March 28– April 3, 2025:
Over the previous week, there was a modest decline of 5.76% in the price of copper scrap.
North America
The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright edged lower by 5.65% in the last week. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing was down 5.76% from the start of the week, closing the week at $4.58 a pound. Likewise, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing decreased by $0.28 per pound, from $4.96 to $4.68.

As of Thursday, April 3, 2025, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index went lower by 5.65% through the week, from $4.96 to $4.68 per pound. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing went down from $4.86 to $4.58 per pound during the previous week. By the conclusion of the week, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had recorded modest decline by 5.88% to $4.48 per pound.
USA Midwest
The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright has inched lower by 5.76% in the last week. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing saw a marginal 5.88% decrease at the end of the week, going from $4.76 to $4.48 per pound. The price of copper scrap in the #2 Copper Wire and Tubing category edged lower by 6.01%. The price per pound decreased from $4.66 to $4.38 during the week.
USA West Coast
According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright decreased by 5.56% during the week, from $5.04 to $4.76 per pound. This week, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing's price edged lower by 7.11% from $3.94 to $3.66 a pound. By the end of the week, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had dropped 5.79%, from $4.84 to $4.56 per pound.
China
The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the Index experienced a slight decrease during the previous week, which ended on April 3, 2025. The weekly closing price of the commodity was CNY 77,900 per MT, which was lower than the previous week's price of CNY 79,450 per MT. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing's price edged lower by 2.05% from the week before. The prices for brass scrap inched lower marginally by 2.90% from the previous week.
North America
Red Brass dropped from $2.84 to $2.76 per pound by the conclusion of the week. Yellow Brass also declined on the Index. The price of the commodity fell from $2.69 to $2.61 per pound, a 0.75 percent rise.

As of Thursday, April 3, 2025, Red Brass was trading at $2.81 a pound, down 2.77% from the previous week. Additionally, compared to the previous week, Yellow Brass's price per pound fell by 2.95%.
China
The week ending April 3, 2025, saw a slight decrease in the price of Red Brass and Yellow Brass. According to the Index, the price of Red Brass declined from CNY 38,900 per MT to CNY 38,650, while the price of Yellow Brass decreased by 0.69% week over week to end at CNY 35,800 per MT.
The Index's aluminum scrap prices recorded marginal decline of 2.50% over the previous week.
North America
The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire went down from $1.14 per pound the previous week to $1.11 per pound, a 2.63% decline. In the week ending April 3, 2025, the price of 6063 Extrusions dropped by 2.17% compared to the previous week. The price of Old Cast declined by 2.56% on the Index. Furthermore, UBC's prices decreased by 2.53% per week.

The prices of Old Cast in the Index decreased by 2.53 percent over the week. Additionally, UBC's pricing declined by 2.50% to $0.78 per pound as of April 3, 2025.
China
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices dropped from CNY 19,450 per MT to CNY 19,350 per MT, a 0.51% decrease on the Index. In addition, compared to the previous week, the price of 6063 Extrusions dropped by 0.54% to CNY 18,350 per MT. As of April 3, 2025, Old Cast's price on the Index decreased by 0.55%. Over the course of the week, UBC prices dropped by 0.40% to CNY 12,500 per MT on the Index.
Europe
For the whole week, the price of Old Cast remained fixed at $1,050 a tonne. Additionally, according to the ScrapMonster Index, UBC prices stayed at $1,250 per tonne, unchanged from the previous week.
The prices of Stainless Steel scrap recorded 2.99% decline over the previous week’s prices.
North America
An examination of 304 SS Solid pricing trend indicates that the commodity's price recorded decline over the prior week. The product's pricing dropped from $0.67 per Lb to $0.65 per Lb.

Over the previous week, there was no variation in #1 HMS prices. At CNY 1,630 per MT, the commodity's price remained stable.
Europe
There was no change in the price of #1 HMS during the course of the week; the ScrapMonster Index showed prices being constant at $170 per MT. Over the course of the week, Shredded Auto Scrap remained unchanged at $130 per MT from the previous week.
