Waste Pro Projecting Record Year for Safety Awards in 2025 of $1.85 Million

SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): Waste Pro projects that it will award more than $1.85 million in Safety Awards in 2025, nearly doubling its 2024 record high of $955,000 in annual awards. These awards are given to drivers and helpers for their dedication to safe driving practices while serving the communities in the Southeastern United States.

Orlando helper James Witherspoon received the company’s first Safety Award of 2025. James is a three-time safety award recipient and has been with the company for nine years. James is known to be a very dependable employee with an intent focus on customer service and is dedicated to following Waste Pro’s safety policies and procedures.  “James has been an exemplary worker who shows up daily to serve our Central Florida communities with a smile. I feel blessed to have him as a valued member of our team,” shared Division Manager Regina Caronia.

In 2024, 104 Waste Pros, including 85 drivers and 19 helpers, earned the coveted award. Since the program’s inception in 2004, over 1,030 hard-working and dedicated drivers and helpers have earned the award – including 33 repeat award winners – totaling over $9.6 million invested in honoring exemplary employee performance. Waste Pro’s founder and executive board chairman, John Jennings, established the Safety Award Program to enhance the company’s commitment to safety while recognizing front-line workers for their service and dedication. “At the heart of everything we do as a company is our commitment to people. When my father implemented the Safety Award program 20 years ago, he was dedicated to improving service for our customers and keeping our employees safe on the job to ensure that they return home to their families each evening. Not only have we been successful in meeting his goals, but we are changing people’s lives through these awards. It’s impressive and a testament to our safety culture when drivers and helpers earn these awards multiple times during their tenure at Waste Pro. I am proud to continue this tradition of highlighting our Waste Pros’ commitment to service and safety,”  shares President and CEO Sean Jennings.

To earn Waste Pro’s coveted Safety Award, employees must exhibit the Waste Pro Way in their daily actions and meet safety-specific criteria over a three-year period. Eligible drivers receive $10,000, and a similar award of $5,000 is offered to eligible helpers.
