SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Pittsburgh-based integrated steel maker United States Steel Corporation (US Steel) has been featured in Newsweek’s List of Most Loved Workplaces for 2021.
The company has been ranked 43rd among the list of top 100 U.S. companies. The award recognizes and ranks companies on the basis of employee happiness and satisfaction at work. The Newsweek had partnered with research company Best Practice Institute (BPI) in carrying out the survey, which covered more than 800,000 employees from businesses with workforce size varying from 50 to more than 10,000.

The company has been recognized by other leading organizations as well for their efforts to build an inclusive, diverse workplace. The company had recently earned perfect 100% score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index to be recognized as the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality”. In addition, it has been recognized as a “Best Place to Work for Diversity Inclusion” in 2021.
David B. Burritt, President and Chief Executive Officer, U.S. Steel noted that caring culture is key to its success. The employees have been responsible for transforming the company into a sustainable model for the future steel industry, he added.
