SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): UPM Communication Papers announced plans to permanently close its paper mill in Germany in July this year, reducing the paper capacity in the country. The move is expected to reduce the capacity of uncoated mechanical paper by 270,000 tonnes per annum and will impact around 235 employees in Ettringen. UPM hopes to start the participation process with the workers council at the earliest.
