SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Taulov, Denmark-headquartered Uniscrap Ltd. will be acquired by HJHansen Recycling Industry Ltd.- a Danish scrap metal recycling company. The latter has already entered into an agreement with the Scholz Recycling Group GmbH, Essingen, Germany towards purchase of the assets. Incidentally, Uniscrap Ltd., with six operating locations, reports revenue of approximately 50 million euros per year.
The acquisition is expected to boost HJHansen Recycling Industry's turnover to over 300 million euros. The company has been investing heavily in its process, aimed at boosting its efficiencies and reducing cost of operation. It has been eyeing consolidation in the iron and metal recycling business in Demark. The acquisition of Uniscrap assets will help the company achieve its business goal. It is expected to strengthen the company’s business platform, thereby benefiting its scrap suppliers.
Marc Breidenbach, board Chairman of Uniscrap Ltd. said that the company is happy to reach an agreement with HJHansen Recycling Industry. It is the perfect solution for Uniscrap’s employees and its partners, he added.
The deal awaits final approval from the Danish competition authorities, which is expected by spring of 2021.
