Three Scrap Aluminum Remelting Plants Attained Prestigious ASI Certification

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) announced that it has certified three scrap aluminum remelting plants in the U.S. of Jupiter Aluminum against its Chain of Custody (CoC) standard.

According to company press release, two of the certified plants are located in Indiana, whereas the third is in West Virginia. The company’s Hammond facility had achieved the certification in January last year. The other two coil coating facilities were added to the scope of certification in March this year. The third party audits at the Jupiter facilities were carried out by DNV GL. All the three plants collect scrap aluminum and remelt them into various aluminum alloys, which are sold in North American markets.

Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI congratulated Jupiter Aluminum on their CoC Standard certification. The achievement of the certification provides assurance to customers that the company’s aluminum scrap-based products are manufactured using responsible techniques, he added.

Meantime, Paul-Henri Chevalier, CEO of Jupiter Aluminum said that the certification is a testament to the company’s firm focus upon sustainability. It is proud to be the first, fully US based re-melting, rolling, finishing and coating operation, to achieve the certification.
