SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Stora Enso announced that it has partnered with Tetra Pak to invest in a complete recycling solution that will significantly boost the recycling capacity of beverage cartons in Poland. The partnership will result in significant improvement in recycling across the Central and Eastern European regions.
The project comprises introduction of a large-scale carton repulping line at Stora Enso’s OstroÅ‚Ä™ka production unit in Poland. The new line will boost the annual recycling capacity of used beverage cartons in Poland, tripling it from current level of 25,000 tons to nearly 75,000 tons. The increased recycling capacity would be sufficient to allow recycling of all beverage cartons sold in Poland and also the cartons from neighbouring countries such as Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Both the lines are expected to become operational in early-2023.
The investment will contribute to the development of a circular economy in Poland and Europe.
