Steel Trade Body Named Prestigious Winners of 12th Steelie Awards

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) announced winners of the 12^th Steelie Awards. The declaration of the awards was made on Wednesday, 13^th October, 2020. The winners were selected from the shortlist announced earlier.

Tata Steel Limited was named the winner of the ‘Excellence in digital communications’ category. The shortlisted companies for the award included JSW Steel Limited, Metinvest Holding LLC, POSCO, Tata Steel Limited and Severstal. The ‘Innovation of the year’ award was won by POSCO for its roll stamping technologies for automotive giga steel. Also, Tata Steel Europe’s zero-carbon logistics was adjudged the winner of ‘Excellence in sustainability’ award.

The tool for making use of LCA in evaluating the environmental performance of new product development and promotion by JSW Steel Limited won the ‘Excellence in Life Cycle Assessment’ award. The ‘Excellence in education and training’ category of award went to HBIS Group Co. Ltd for its online training and innovation platform. The winner of the ‘Excellence in communications programmes’ was POSCO for their program titled ‘Park1538’- an innovative cultural space showcasing breakthrough technology and the ultimate beauty of steel.

The Steelie awards, judged by selected expert panels, recognize outstanding contributions to global steel industry by individuals and member companies.
