SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Smurfit Westrock declared that it has teamed up with Nestle to introduce a novel paper-based container for the latter's well-known Quality Street brand of sweets during the holiday season. This will be the first of its kind paper tub to hit supermarket shelves. When the new box is no longer needed, it can be recycled at home.
Nestle asked Smurfit Westrock to create a trial pack for their popular sweet brand as part of their continuous attempts to use less virgin plastic. There can be more boxes on a pallet thanks to the redesigned tubs. Moreover, it possesses the ability to considerably lower carbon dioxide emissions.

The distinctive purple color and hexagonal shape of the new paper tub are still present. Starting this week, it will be available for purchase in a few Tesco locations alongside the conventional plastic version. Both boxes will be the same size and contain the same items.
Nestle has moved to paper wraps for the Quality Street candies earlier in 2022. As a result, more than 2 billion wrappers have been kept out of landfills.
The CEO of Smurfit Westrock's Europe, MEA, and APAC, Saverio Mayer, stated that the company hopes that the novel tub would be attractive to the increasing number of customers who are looking for their favorite items in more environmentally friendly packaging. He went on to say that there will be numerous sustainability advantages to the paper-based substitute.
