SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The partnership of Smurfit Kappa and sommelier Myriam Echeverri won the Product Design 2021 category award of the prestigious Red Dot Design Awards. The packaging was recognized as one of the most innovative design projects in the world. The innovative packaging solution was developed for Wine & Bite Box.
The packaging is made from 100% recyclable materials. The flexible packaging is capable of accommodating different shapes and sizes of wine bottles safely, without having to use any filling materials. It offers a wide variety of 220 options to optimise space within the cardboard box.

Commenting on the distinguished recognition, Juan Guillermo Castañeda, CEO of Smurfit Kappa The Americas noted that the award for the product demonstrates the great difference offered by its innovative and sustainable packaging designs. The company is interested to explore similar partnerships to offer more products that meet the changing needs of its customers, he added.
Meantime, Myriam Echeverri, sommelier and founder of Wine & Bite Box said that the new packaging solution developed by Smurfit Kappa will ensure that the products arrive safely and securely to its customers in Brazil, wherever they are in.
