SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Portlan, Ore.-based Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc. has been recognized as one of the 2020 World’s Most Ethical Companies. The company is one among 132 awardees across a total of 51 industries from 21 countries.
This is the sixth consecutive time that Ethispere has selected the company for the honor, which underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to its core values of Safety, Sustainability and Integrity.
Tamara Lundgren, President and Chief Executive Officer noted that the inclusion in the prestigious list is one of the highest and most valuable honors it could receive. He thanked the employees for their continued excellence in service offered to various stakeholders. Meantime, Timothy Erblich, Chief Executive Officer, Ethispere congratulated everyone at Schnitzer steel for earning the recognition.
The winners are judged based upon the performance against Ethisphere’s Ethics Quotient framework, which focuses on several key categories including ethics and compliance program, culture of ethics, corporate citizenship and responsibility, governance and leadership and reputation. The selection is based on responses to nearly 200 questions based on the above themes.
