SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): Rumpke recently purchased a property at 10996 Sand Run Road in Whitewater Township, totaling about 8.8 acres. The parcel is adjacent to Rumpke’s Bond Road Landfill, a more than 100-acre landfill it acquired in 1998. The property is located 1.6 miles from the current Bond Road entrance and less than half a mile from the site of the proposed new Sand Run Road entrance.
A rental property is located on the land, and there is no plan for demolition at this time. “The neighbor, who currently resides in the house, approached us about buying her land. Since it was adjacent to the property, we went for it. It wasn’t something we were going out to actively pursue,” Molly Yeager, the corporate communications manager for Rumpke, told me.

In October 2022, Rumpke Waste & Recycling received Environmental Protection Agency approval to increase the daily waste acceptance limit at Bond Road Landfill from 100 tons to 1,500 tons. At this time, the site receives a small amount of waste annually and is not in daily operation.
