CINCINNATI (Scrap Monster) : Cincinnati based Rumpke has successfully rebuilt its recycling facility with more capacities. The company claims that it is now the largest, fastest and most technologically advanced recycling facility to date. In place of the 25-ton per hour facility, Rumpke has unveiled a 100,000 square-foot facility capable of sorting 55-ton recyclables per hour.
The facility built around Machinex technology, handles huge recycling quantities and accepts a wider range of materials. The recycling facility now hosts six optical scanners for plastics and fibres, and two electromagnetic eddy currents as well as disc screens for sorting glass, plastics, containers, paper, cardboard, aseptics and metals. In addition, the facility also makes use of Machinex-provided SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system to control the plant operations.
Earlier, Machinex had partnered with Rumpke to renovate its Columbus, Ohio facility.
Headquartered in Colerain Township, Ohio, just outside of Cincinnati, Rumpke is one of the nation’s largest privately owned residential and commercial waste and recycling firms, providing service to areas of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia.
Machinex is a world leader developing cutting edge sorting, waste management and recycling technology. The company has established itself as a leader in designing profitable quality recycling sorting systems for leading MRFs in the region.
