SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Radius Recycling, located in Portland, Oregon, declared the release of its Fiscal 2024 Sustainability Report. The report highlights the company's role in the shift to a low-carbon future and shows its progress toward its multi-year sustainability targets.
The study states that, in compared to the baseline for 2019, the company reduced Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at recycling activities by 30%. Additionally, compared to the prior year, it recorded a 16% decrease in the total case incident rate (TCIR) across all of its businesses. 87 percent of Radius Recycling's facilities did not experience any lost time injuries.

Over the course of the fiscal year, 4.9 million tons of ferrous and nonferrous metals were recycled as part of its circularity programs. Additionally, 509,000 short tons of completed steel products derived from ferrous metal recycling were sold. For the fourth consecutive year, the company's recycling processes maintained 100% net carbon-free electricity.
According to Chairman and CEO Tamara Lundgren, the company's sustainability approach is built around the three-pillar sustainability framework—People, Planet, and Profit—that was established nearly ten years ago.
