WASHINGTON (Scrap Monster) : The Outokumpu Stainless USA have announced raise in alloy surcharges for most stainless steel products for the month of September. The rise follows hike in surcharges by other major producers including North American Stainless (NAS), AK Steel and ATI Allegheny Ludlum.
Outukumpu raised its alloy surcharge for 304 grades stainless for September to US$0.6519/lb . The surcharge for the product during August was US$0.6354/lb. Also, its alloy surcharges for 316 grades increased by 1% to $ 0.8912 per lb from US$0.8821/lb. The surcharge for 201 grades was hiked by 1.5% to $0.4407/lb. At the same time the surcharge for Type 430 Stainless were cut by 1.7% to $ 0.2261 per lb.
Recently, NAS had raised its alloy surcharge for 304 grades stainless for September to US$0.6518/lb. The surcharge for the product during August was US$0.6354/lb. Also, its alloy surcharges for 316 grades increased to $ 0.8907 per lb from US$0.8821/lb. At the same time the surcharge for Type 430 Stainless were cut to $ 0.2260 per lb from US$0.23/lb.
Also, AK Steel had hiked its alloy surcharges for 304 grades stainless from US$0.6355/lb to US$0.6519/lb. Meanwhile, its stainless surcharges for 316 grades were raised to US$0.8907/lb from US$0.8821/lb. Meanwhile, the surcharge for Type 430 Stainless was cut to $ 0.2261 per lb from US$0.2301/lb.
ATI Allegheny Ludlum also had announced hike in surcharges for 304 grades to US$0.6516/lb. from US$0.6353/lb, whereas those of 316 grades were increased from US$0.8874/lb to US$0.8903/lb. The surcharge for Type 430 Stainless dropped from US$0.2303/lb to US$0.2261/lb.
