SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Novelis Inc. has highlighted the enormous benefits and economic benefits of aluminum recycling.
According to Chris Cerone, Vice President, Public Affairs & Communications at Novelis, who cited data from the Aluminum Association, the aluminum recycling sector is still a major driver of economic activity and job creation. About 38% of all jobs in the industry are in this area. Nearly 5,000 individuals are employed by the corporation alone in the United States.

Recycling aluminum has financial advantages that go beyond job creation. Every employment generated by the aluminum recycling sector supports more jobs in associated industries like retail, services, and transportation. According to estimates, up to 3.5 indirect employment are created for every direct industry position.
For several material recovery facilities (MRF) in the US, used beverage cans (UBC) have been a significant source of revenue. The nation only recycles roughly 45% of aluminum cans each year, suggesting that significant extra economic and environmental advantages could result from a possible increase in the nation's aluminum recycling rate. Reaching a 90% recycling rate by 2030 would result in annual economic activity of almost $1.6 billion.
