The CSC will serve as a hub of collaboration among beverage can makers, brand owners, other industry suppliers and scientific partners. It aims to inspire ideas and accelerate innovation by bringing together various industry stakeholders, so as to effectively address real-world challenges. The 3,000-square-meter state-of-the-art facility provides modern laboratories, training rooms, and collaboration space.
Greg Schlicht, Senior Vice President, Global Can Sales at Novelis noted that the industry need to be prepared for boosted demand, as aluminum is quickly becoming the material of choice for beverage can packaging. In response to growing beverage business, the company is committed to invest in innovation, he added.
The current aluminum market trends suggest that consumers increasingly prefer sustainable packaging. Furthermore, they indicate expanding beverage market and growing interest in specialty cans.
The Sao Jose dos Campos facility is the latest addition to Novelis' growing global network of CSCs.
