Novelis Announces $4.5 Million Investment in Ohio Aluminum Facility

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Atlanta, Georgia-headquartered global leader in rolled aluminum products and recycling, Novelis, Inc. has announced major investment at its Warren, Ohio facility. The investment is expected to boost operational efficiency of the plant and result in significant cost-savings over a period of time. Further, the investment will help the company to sustain its operations in Warren facility for many years to come.

Incidentally, the company had issued a press release, confirming its investment of $4.35 million at the rolled aluminum sheet and coating facility. The new investment will be utilized towards purchasing state-of-the-art technology in order to modernize the plant operations. The facility currently employs 75 people to apply coating to rolled aluminum sheets, which are then used to make lids for the tops of aluminum beverage cans. The plant has a production capacity of more than 1 billion beverages can lids per month.

Paul Nelson, plant manager at Warren facility announced that Novelis is thrilled to announce the multi-million dollar local investment. The investment is necessary to sustain its operations in Warren for many years to come. He hoped that the investment will be justified by the steady US can market and the company’s strong financial performance across the globe.

Rep. Tim Ryan applauded Novelis for making this important investment, which is likely to have huge impact on manufacturing in the region. The company has made significant contributions in expanding and promoting manufacturing industry in the region for many years now. The fresh round of investment reiterates the business-friendly atmosphere that prevails in the Mahoning Valley. New businesses and investments are always welcome, Ryan added.

Meantime, Ohio Sen. Rob Portman expressed great pleasure in Novelis’ investment and hoped that its partnership with local community will continue to grow even stronger in the upcoming years. The investment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all the 75 employees, he added. Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown too dedicated the investment to the strength of Ohio’s workforce and termed it as a signal of the company’s ongoing commitment to its employees and the Warren community.
