SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Coca-Cola Japan towards building a more sustainable society. The two companies had signed an agreement earlier also, for the period from September 2013 to March 2021.
By way of the earlier MOU, both the parties had engaged in various activities aimed at conserving the value of forests, while promoting sustainable development of involved communities. The new partnership builds on these activities, by expanding the scope of collaborative efforts. Over the ten-year period, the companies will focus on concrete activities that contribute to a more sustainable society.
Both the companies will collaborate on efforts to conserve forests and improve water replenishment capability of forests. The companies will examine ways to utilize paper materials in packaging and explore possibilities of association in paper cup collection and recycling. In addition, they will work together to implement measures to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
Finally, the companies have agreed to implement a broad range of green infrastructure activities to preserve nature and its resources.
