SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The new pyrolysis method is designed to address the problem of plastic waste. By heating the plastics to extremely high temperatures without oxygen, the procedure chemically breaks them down into different molecules.
Waste from a variety of consumer goods, including plastic bags, bottles, milk jugs, packaging materials, wet wipes, and abandoned toys, can be processed using the plastic pyrolysis process. There are a number of uses for the char that is left over after the process after it is finished. To put it briefly, the method turns waste plastic into materials that can be used.

Community recyclers clean the plastic they gather to get rid of any impurities. After that, the plastic is shred into tiny bits and put into a pyrolysis reactor, where it is heated to extremely high temperatures in the absence of oxygen. The plastic polymers decompose into smaller, more refined hydrocarbon molecules due to the high temperature environment. A portion of these molecules transform into vapors, which subsequently condense into oil. The process produces natural gases like methane, ethane, butane, and propane in addition to liquid oil.
Recycling is extended beyond plastic bottles and milk jugs thanks to the plastic pyrolysis process. Additionally, fewer new plastics may be used if waste plastic is turned into valuable products.
