SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Fort Wayne-based MetalX LLC has announced a new leader for its new aluminum slab business that will be housed at the company’s planned $300 million campus in Defiance, Ohio.
Stan Gish will serve as president and chief operating officer of MMX Aluminum, which is expected to be operational in 2027.
Gish previously served as Vice President of Operations Tri-Arrows Aluminum Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky, and also held numerous leadership roles at Logan Aluminum in Russellville, Kentucky.
He most recently led his own consulting practice that specialized in industry project development and due diligence work, MetalX said in a news release.
“Stan’s addition to our leadership team marks a significant milestone for MetalX as we continue to focus on growth in the aluminum sector,” MetalX CEO Danny Rifkin said. “Stan’s experience, leadership, and vision align perfectly with our mission, and we are excited to see the positive impact he will have on our operations and future endeavors.”
MetalX announced in January that it had selected a 190-acre site in the northwest Ohio city for the project, which is expected to create 180 jobs. The campus will include an aluminum rolling slab manufacturing plant, a scrap metal shredding and advanced sortation facility, and a dedicated logistics hub, the company said.
Gish will oversee all aspects of the design, engineering, construction and operation of the MMX Aluminum business. The company said he will also be involved in the development and implementation of company initiatives across all business segments.
