BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Friday, March 21, 2025. Copper and Brass/Bronze scrap prices recorded decline over the previous day. In contrast, Stainless Steel scrap prices edged higher on the Index. Meanwhile, Aluminum and Steel scrap prices held steady.
The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices dipped by CNY 1,000 per MT over the previous day.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing too saw price decline of CNY 1,000 per MT.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also decreased by CNY 1,000 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices recorded a decline of CNY 500 per MT on the Index. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were down by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day.
Copper Transformer scrap prices recorded marginal decline by CNY 50 per MT over the prior day’s prices.
Cu Yokes and Cu/Al Radiator prices edged lower by CNY 50 and CNY 150 per MT respectively on the Index.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were down by CNY 50 per MT as of Friday, March 21, 2025.
Heater Cores prices tumbled by CNY 400 per MT on the Index.
Also, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices edged lower by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.
6063 Extrusions witnessed no change in prices over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also were flat on the Index.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers recorded no variation on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices held steady.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also witnessed no change as of March 21, 2025.
The prices UBC and Zorba 90% INF remained flat when compared with the previous day’s price.
#1 HMS prices held steady as of Friday, March 21, 2025.
Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.
201 SS prices were flat on the Index.
304 SS Solid prices were up by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices reported an increase of CNY 100 per MT each when compared with the prior day’s price.
310 SS scrap prices inched higher by CNY 150 per MT as of March 21, 2025.
Shred SS prices reported an increase of CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded decline on the Index.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were down by CNY 100 per MT as of March 21, 2025.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices edged lower by CNY 150 per MT each when matched with the previous day’s prices.
