SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): East Greenville, Pennsylvania-headquartered Knoll, Inc. announced closure of its Grand Rapids, Michigan manufacturing facility. The move is in line with the company’s ongoing strategic plan to optimize its North American manufacturing operations. The closure is expected to impact nearly 180 hourly and 30 salaried employees, company press release said.
As per the restructuring plan, Knoll expects to substantially close its Grand Rapids manufacturing operations by end-Q2 this year. The restructuring operation is scheduled for end-2021 completion. The manufacturing operations at the plant will transition to other Knoll manufacturing sites in North America. Furthermore, it confirmed that the restructuring plans are unlikely to impact existing manufacturing operations in East Greenville, PA; Muskegon, MI; and Toronto, Ontario (Canada).
