SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The consolidated crude steel production by JSW Steel totalled 5.35 million tonnes (mt) during Q3 FY22. The above is inclusive of the production at the jointly controlled JSW Ispat Special Products (JISPL). The production was significantly higher by 28% when compared with the production during the corresponding quarter in FY21. It must be noted that the output had totalled only 5.07 mt in Q3 FY21.
On a standalone basis, the crude steel production by JSW Steel recorded 8% surge to total 4.41 mt in Q3 FY22, compared with 4.08 mt a year before. The consolidated production by the Indian operations witnessed 24% jump to total 5.19 mt in Q3 FY22, in comparison with 4.18 mt in Q3 FY21. The standalone operations reported a capacity utilization of 94%. The shutdown of continuous strip plant on account of upgrades for a period of ten days impacted the production of Bhushan Power & Steel.
For the initial nine-month period of FY22, the crude steel production on a standalone basis totalled 12.61 mt, higher by 16% over corresponding nine-month period the previous fiscal. The group crude steel production, at 15.50 mt, surged higher by 39% year-on-year during the nine-month period.
