SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): UK-based petrochemicals producer EQUATE Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading plastics recycling firm Omniya Project Management Company to help reduce plastic waste in Kuwait through the implementation of a joint community recycling program. The MoU was signed by Naser Aldousari, President & CEO of EQUATE Group, and Sanaa AlGhemlas, CEO of Omniya.

The MoU will further strengthen the collaborative partnership to develop and support environmental initiatives in the country aimed at minimizing resource consumption and reducing waste. The initiative will encourage the community to reduce plastic waste by supporting various recycling initiatives.
As per terms of the MoU, the EQUATE Group will be responsible for design, implementation and delivery of 45 Omniya’s plastic recycling containers at various locations across Kuwait. In addition, it will also be entrusted with the maintenance of two compressors used to collect, sort, and recycle waste.
The partnership will introduce a sustainable plastic recycling model in the country, thereby helping the transition of the plastics industry into a circular economy. Equate and Omniya invited the active participation of various stakeholders throughout the entire supply chain in the project.
