Interstate Waste Services Acquires Pinto Service

SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): Interstate Waste Services, Inc., a leading vertically integrated provider of solid waste collection, disposal, and recycling services, announced the acquisition of Pinto Service, Inc. and National Transport, Inc., a family-owned waste hauling company with deep roots in northern New Jersey. The partnership brings together two family-founded organizations that share a commitment to exceptional service, employee health and safety, and community engagement.

Founded in 1951 by Joseph and Gloria Pinto, Pinto Service grew from a single-truck operation into a trusted waste management provider known for reliability and strong customer relationships.  As one of the leading family businesses in New Jersey, Pinto represents a special opportunity to integrate not only a loyal customer base, but also an exceptional, tenured workforce.  Through this combination, Pinto customers will gain access to a fully integrated and expanded recycling & processing platform, and state-of-the-art safety technologies while continuing to receive the personal, dependable service they trust.

As part of the acquisition, IWS will integrate all of Pinto Service’s collection services, transfer station and disposal operations, employees, and its fleet of over 40 collection vehicles into its operations. Notably, the Pinto family continues its leadership role of the new IWS Lodi NJ operations, ensuring continuity while maintaining the strong relationships built over decades.

The acquisition of Pinto Service marks another milestone in IWS’s expansion across the tristate area. It follows a series of strategic acquisitions aimed at strengthening IWS’s market leadership, including Oak Ridge Waste & Recycling in Southwestern Connecticut and Suburban New York, as well as Marangi Disposal, the largest independent hauler in Orange and Rockland Counties, New York.
