Hi-Cone Published 2021 State of Plastic Recycling Report

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Hi-Cone- a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions to prominent consumer packaged goods companies announced publication of its new ‘State of Plastic Recycling’ Report for 2021. The report summarizes findings of survey carried out by YouGov.

The second annual report identifies opportunities for achieving a circular economy. The YouGov survey had tried to determine the public's understanding of the term 'circular economy' and public’s level of support for recycling. The information contained in the report is expected to help in further accelerating the transition from a traditional, linear economy to a sustainable and vibrant circular economy.

The survey was conducted among over 5,000 adults across the U.S., Mexico, Spain and the U.K.

As per the report, nearly 31% of the respondents indicated confidence in understanding the term ‘circular economy’. Nearly 61% said they recycled three-quarters of their plastic waste. Also, 78% indicated the need for increased number of facilities and guidance to boost plastic recycling levels.

The focused application of recommendations presented in the report will help in realizing an efficient and effective circular economy for plastic.
