SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The exports and imports of aluminum scrap by various countries are likely to witness mixed trend in 2020.
The imports by Greece are predicted to surge higher by 41.81% over the previous year to total around 62,700 tons in 2020. It must be noted that the country’s imports had totalled nearly 97,806 tons from 2017 to 2019, with imports mainly sourced from Albania, Australia and Belgium.
The export volume of aluminum scrap by Spain is predicted to climb higher by 8.53% over the prior year to approximately 146,000 tons this year. The country had exported nearly 303,900 tons of scrap from 2017 to 2019. The major export destinations during these times were Austria, Bahrain and Belgium.

On the contrary, Cyprus’ aluminum scrap export volume is expected to see slight decline by 8.34% to around 7,200 tons in 2020. From 2018 to 20019, the country had recorded exports totalling nearly 17,000 tons. The country primarily exported aluminum scrap to Albania, Greece and Italy.
Indonesia imported nearly 159,700 tons in 2019. It is predicted that the imports will surge higher by over 17% to around 187,000 tons this year. The exports, which totalled 12,200 tons from 2018 to 2019, are likely to see year-on-year jump by 11.63% to 10,806 tons in 2020. The country’s main import sources were Australia, Belgium and Canada, whereas the key export markets were India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.
