SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):The below report analyses the weekly price trends of scrap copper across various regional markets during the past week (26th January, 2024 to 1st February, 2024) on the Scrap Monster Price Index.
The copper scrap prices in the region recorded mixed trend, when matched with the week before that. The prices of majority of the commodities maintained prior week’s price levels, while the remaining recorded decline. #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery alone registered surge in prices over the prior week.

The biggest dip in prices over the prior week was witnessed in Heater Cores, whose prices edged lower from $1.67 per Lb to $1.66 per Lb. The other copper scrap category to record decline in prices was Copper Radiators, whose prices fell from $2.25 per Lb to $2.24 over the week.
Meantime, the prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright, Cu/Al Radiators, Alternator, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery, #3 Copper- Light Copper, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Heater Cores, Cu/Al Radiators, Alternator, Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed Units, Starters, and Xmas Lights recorded no change on Index.
The prices of certain copper scrap categories witnessed marginal decline in the region. #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices posted nominal surge over the week.
The prices of Copper Radiators and Heater Cores registered decline over the week.

Meantime, #1 Copper Bare Bright, Cu/Al Radiators, Alternator, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery, #3 Copper- Light Copper, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Heater Cores, Cu/Al Radiators, Alternator, Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed Units, Starters, and Xmas Lights held steady over the week.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices recorded marginal increase by $0.01 per Lb over the prior week.
The prices of majority of copper scrap prices commodities in the region held steady over the previous week.
The only two losers were Heater Cores and Copper Radiators.
The Heater Cores prices ended the week at $1.65 per Lb, down from the previous week price of $1.66 per Lb. Also, Copper Radiators prices recorded decline by 0.45%, falling from $2.24 per Lb to $2.23 per Lb.
The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery recorded increase on Index.
The copper scrap metal prices in the region witnessed mixed trend week-on-week.
The scrap categories to record marginal decline in prices from the previous week were Heater Cores and Copper Radiators.
Heater Cores prices edged lower by 0.66% week-on-week. The prices of Copper Radiators too were down by 0.44% upon comparison with the week before.
#1 Copper Bare Bright, Cu/Al Radiators, Alternator, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery, #3 Copper- Light Copper, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Heater Cores, Cu/Al Radiators, Alternator, Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed Units, Starters, and Xmas Lights were flat over the prior week.
All copper scrap categories witnessed weekly price increase.
Sealed Units recorded the biggest surge in prices during the previous week.

Scrap Electric Motors prices inched higher from CNY 6,750 per MT to CNY 6,800 per MT on Index. Also, Copper Transformer Scrap registered week-on-week surge in prices by 0.43%.
The commodities to register least increase in prices were #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery and #1 Copper Bare Bright, which reported surge by 0.15% each.
The scrap commodities in Indian market recorded no change, upon comparison with the prior week.
The copper cable scrap prices held steady at INR 716,000 per Ton over the week. The weekly chart depicting the price movement in the commodity is provided below:
The prices of copper armature, copper heavy scrap and copper sheet cutting too were flat on the Scrap Monster Index.
The prices of Copper utensil scrap and Copper wire bars (HCL *) too witnessed no change during the week ended February 1st, 2024.
The prices of all copper scrap commodities such as #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, Braziery Copper, Copper Dry Bright, Copper radiators and Copper Tubes held steady during the course of the week.

Meantime, the closing price of LME Copper 3-Month contract stood at USD 8,545.00 per tonne as on 1st February, 2024. The LME Copper Cash Settlement contract prices edged lower modestly from $8,513.00 a day before to $8,437.00 per tonne.
The LME Copper stocks saw marginal decline over the previous day to close at 145,425 tonnes on 1st February, 2024, as compared with 146,475 tonnes on 31st January, 2024.
