SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Paris-headquartered Constellium SE announced that its Neuf-Brisach, France facility has been certified in accordance with the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative’s (ASI’s) Performance and Chain of Custody Standards. It covers plant operations including recycling, casting, rolling and finishing.
The certification allows the facility to provide responsibly sourced, independently certified solutions to its customers. The facility will process materials obtained through ASI certified supply chains to produce certified and sustainable aluminum rolled products, as per customer requirement. Incidentally, the annual production capacity of the facility is estimated at around 450,000 metric tons.
Peter Basten, president of the Packaging and Rolled Automotive Products business unit at Constellium noted that the certification is a demonstration of the company’s commitment to build a circular economy and deliver significant improvement to the overall footprint of the aluminum life cycle.
Meantime, Fiona Solomon, chief executive officer at ASI stated that the ASI certifications provide the assurance that their customers are sourcing an aluminum product that is produced responsibly.
