Coca-Cola Collaboration to Boost PET Bottle Recycling

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Coca-Cola India announced its decision to expand the collaboration with Zepto to boost PET bottle recycling in the country. The move reinforces the company’s commitment towards plastic circularity.

The initiative, titled “Return and Recycle” was initially launched in November last year as a pilot project in select locations in Mumbai. The initiative will now be expanded to Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, and Kolkata. As part of the expansion, collection bins will be deployed across hundreds of Zepto delivery hubs in the above cities.

Commenting on the expansion plans, Abhishek Gupta, Chief Customer Officer Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia said that the extension of the partnership with Zepto to other cities will further boost efforts towards plastics circularity. Moreover, it will further the company’s goal of creating a world without waste.

Meantime, Vinay Dhanani, Chief Operations Officer, Zepto said that the collaboration with leading soft drinks brand has been an exciting opportunity for the company to demonstrate the potential of new-age e-commerce beyond business. The company aims to constantly innovate and embed sustainable practices ill all areas of operations, he added.
