SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Irving, Texas-headquartered Commercial Metals Company (CMC) launched RebarZero- a new line of rebar products with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. The product provides a carbon neutral profile from production to final delivery at the job-site. The company also announced introduction of net-zero steel across its entire mill product portfolio.

Commenting on the development, Barbara Smith, Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer, CMC said that the introduction of the net-zero offering demonstrates its ongoing commitment to sustainability. It will enable the company to remain at the forefront of the industry by providing customers with one of the lowest emissions steel products in the marketplace. The launch of the new range of products will further strengthen its ability to provide innovative solutions for the entire construction and industrials markets, he added.
The company has been an industry leader in environmentally friendly and sustainable steelmaking. The greenhouse gas emissions, energy intensity, and water usage of CMC mills are significantly lower when matched with domestic and global industry average.
