SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Clean Earth- one of the largest specialty waste companies in the U.S. announced that its new program, AssetSure, has turned out to be a huge success, helping remote companies boost e-waste recycling.
The new program allows remote companies and small retail shops to ship used electronic items from anywhere within the U.S. to a Clean Earth facility, which will ensure secure and proper recycling and disposal. Thus the program provides remote management of end-of-life electronics and secure data destruction, thus creating a more sustainable product lifecycle, said the company press release.

The program offers full transparency of remote IT assets to customers. The customers are provided with a prepaid label and packaging materials. The used electronic items are then inventoried and shipped to the nearest Clean Earth facility, where they are inspected, recycled or destroyed.
David Stanton, President, Clean Earth said that the risk for e-waste mismanagement has increased along with increase in remote work, especially during the pandemic time. The AssetSure program offers a responsible and compliant method to handle expired IT assets, he added.
Since its inception, Clean Earth has recycled around 40,000 pounds of IT assets from remote employees and retail locations.
