SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): Bruin Waste Management is expanding in Grand Junction with a new division focused on advanced recycling and materials sortation. The expansion is being supported by Colorado’s Rural Jump-Start Program, championed by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) and the Grand Junction Economic Partnership (GJEP).

Bruin Waste’s new division in Grand Junction will provide services that were previously only available regionally in Utah, reducing transportation costs for those on the Western Slope. This new facility is expected to create up to 30 new primary jobs that pay around Mesa County’s average wage ($56,524).

The facility will introduce “state-of-the-art” sortation technology, including AI-driven systems, to improve recycling efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and shorten regional supply chain costs. Facility plans also include a community viewing room to educate students, residents and stakeholders about modern recycling practices and environmental responsibility.
