SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on a proposed gold mine project within the Bullfrog Hills in Nye County, Nevada. Public comment will help inform BLM’s environmental impact statement for the North Bullfrog Mine Project proposed by Corvus Gold Nevada, Inc.
Corvus Gold proposes the construction, operation, and eventual reclamation and closure of a new surface mine approximately nine miles north of Beatty’s main population center. When fully developed, the project would impact approximately 6,298 acres. The project would employ approximately 530 contractors during the initial one-year construction period, and about 230 full-time employees during active mining and processing, which is expected to last up to 20 years.
BLM will host a virtual public scoping meeting at 5 p.m. PT April 24, 2024, and 2 p.m. PT April 25, 2024. Further information on the project and how to register for the virtual public meetings is available at the BLM National NEPA Register.
Comments received on or before May 10, 2024, via the methods below will inform BLM’s development of a robust environmental review of the proposal. Please reference North Bullfrog Mine Project in the subject line for mailed and emailed comments.
