SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading steelmaker ArcelorMittal published its 2021 integrated annual review, as part of the company’s commitment to engage stakeholders and communicate its financial and non-financial performance. The review, ‘Smarter steels for people and planet’, provides an overview of its performance during the previous year, outlines progress against strategic priorities and provides details about its long-term as well as short-term plans.
The review highlights the support extended to over 26,000 company employees and local community at its Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine plant, including donations, funding and accommodation assistance.

The company has completed a comprehensive review of its efforts to improve performance, strengthened safety strategy and governance. It must be noted that the company had reported extremely disappointing safety results in 2021.
ArcelorMittal has committed $180 million from the Company’s XCarb innovation fund to promote development of technologies to support decarbonisation across the steel value chain. It had recently provided updates on the decarbonisation projects worth $5.6 billion in France, Spain, Belgium and Canada.
In addition, the steelmaker has recorded significant progress towards meeting steel and mining certification and accreditation standards.
