Amcor Declares $25 Million Investment to Upgrade Madison Facility

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Amcor- the global leader in high-quality flexible packaging solutions announced investment of $25 million to expand its Madison, Wisconsin faciliy. The investment will commence this year and extend into 2019.

The ground-breaking ceremony to mark the expansion will be held at 12.30 pm on 20 September, 2018. The ceremony will be attended by Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, and Amcor Flexibles Americas President Tom Cochran.

The planned investment aims to update technology, improve product quality and reduce waste. It includes purchase of new machinery and update to existing infrastructure. The expansion will help Amcor to expand its product capabilities to serve customers in variety of markets including medical, pharmaceutical, food and personal care.

The project is expected to generate more than 150 jobs during the construction phase. In addition, it will increase the employment at the plant in 4101 Lien Rd., Madison by nearly 50%. In order to fill immediate requirements of entry-level and highly skilled manufacturing positions, the company plans to conduct a job fair at the plant on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Amcor Flexibles Madison General Manager Timm Goodmanson invited applications from qualified professionals to join the company’s committed workforce.

Amcor Flexibles Americas president, Tom Cochran stated that the company is proud and excited to be growing in Wisconsin to better serve its customers in North America.

Amcor had recently entered into an agreement to acquire the assets of Neenah-based Bemis as part of expansion in the region.
