SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide markets for the past one-week period (November, 15 to November 21, 2024) on the Scrap Monster Price Index is provided below:
There was a general downward tendency in the prices. All scrap categories, except a few, recorded decline when compared with the previous week.
The largest price drop of the week was seen in Mixed Aluminum Turnings, which recorded a decrease from $0.47 per pound to $0.45 per pound. The commodity saw a 4.26% weekly price decrease. Aluminum Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery also reported modest decline in price over the previous week, falling by 3.13% and 2.78%, respectively.

Zorba 90% NF, 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Chrome Wheels, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and E.C. Aluminum Wire prices reported decline over the previous week.
In contrast, no change in price was seen in Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices recorded biggest dip over the week, registering 4.26% decline from $0.47 per Lb to $0.45 per Lb. Also, modest weekly declines by 3.13% and 2.78% were seen in Aluminum Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery.
The rest of the scrap aluminium categories, except a few, recorded week-over-week decline.
The least declines were seen in 5052 Scrap and 6063 Extrusions.
In the meantime, prices of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers held steady during the week ending November 21, 2024.
The aluminium scrap prices in the region mostly edged lower over the previous week. The top three losers were Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Aluminum Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery.
The Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices ended the week at $0.44 per Lb, down from the previous week’s price of $0.46 per Lb.
Also, the week witnessed dip in prices of Aluminum Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery to $0.30 per Lb and $0.34 per Lb respectively.

The other commodities to register week-on-week dip in prices were Zorba 90% NF, 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Chrome Wheels, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and E.C. Aluminum Wire.
The prices of the region’s majority of scrap aluminum categories continued to fall week over week.
The scrap categories to dip the most were Mixed Aluminum Turnings and Aluminum Radiators, whose prices recorded declines by 4.26% and 3.13% respectively over the previous week. Breakage 50% Recovery prices recorded fall from $0.37 per Lb to $0.36 per Lb.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers witnessed no variation during the week
The Chinese aluminum scrap prices witnessed no change over the previous week’s price.
Aluminum Ingots saw its prices unchanged at CNY 20,700 per MT during the week.

Also, 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, E.C.Aluminum Wire, Aluminum Transformers, Old cast, Old Sheet, UBC and Zorba 90% NF too held steady on the Index during the course of the week.
The prices of scrap aluminum utensils saw no variation during the week ending on November 21, 2024. The prices held steady at INR 236,000 per Ton. The weekly price chart of Aluminum utensil scrap is as follows:
The prices of Aluminum ingots also were flat at INR 245,000 per Ton during the week.
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) remained constant during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,625.50 per tonne as of November 21, 2024. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract inched lower from $2,654.50 a day before to $2,591.00 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined marginally over the previous day to close at 711,050 tonnes on November 21, 2024, down slightly from 711,400 tonnes on November 20, 2024.
