SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide markets for the past one-week period (March 21 to March 27, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index is provided below:
There was a general downward tendency in the prices. All scrap categories, except a few, recorded decline when compared with the previous week.
The largest price drop of the week was seen in 6063 Extrusions/Fe, which recorded a decrease from $0.71 per pound to $0.68 per pound. The commodity saw a 4.23% weekly price decrease. E.C. Aluminum Wire and 6061 Extrusions also reported modest decline in price over the previous week, falling by 4.20% and 4.05%, respectively.

Aluminum Radiators, Breakage 50% Recovery, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, 6063 Extrusions, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), MLC Clips, UBC, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, Chrome Wheels, Old Cast, Old Sheet, and Zorba 90% NF prices also reported decline over the previous week.
In contrast, no change in price was seen in Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers.
Meanwhile, Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices edged higher by 2.50% and 2.79% respectively.
6063 Extrusions/Fe prices recorded biggest dip over the week, registering 4.23% decline from $0.71 per Lb to $0.68 per Lb. Also, modest weekly declines by 4.20% and 4.05% were seen in E.C. Aluminum Wire and 6061 Extrusions.
The rest of the scrap aluminium categories, except a few, recorded week-over-week decline.
The least declines were seen in Breakage 50% Recovery and 5052 Scrap.
In the meantime, prices of Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers held steady during the week ending March 27, 2025.
Also, Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices were up over the previous week’s prices.
The aluminium scrap prices in the region mostly edged lower over the previous week. The top three losers were 6063 Extrusions/Fe, E.C. Aluminum Wire and 6061 Extrusions.
The 6063 Extrusions/Fe prices ended the week at $0.67 per Lb, down from the previous week’s price of $0.70 per Lb, registering a weekly decline of 4.29%.
Also, the week witnessed dip in prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire and 6061 Extrusions to $1.14 per Lb and $0.70 per Lb respectively.

The other commodities to register week-on-week dip in prices were Aluminum Radiators, Breakage 50% Recovery, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, 6063 Extrusions, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), MLC Clips, UBC, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, Chrome Wheels, Old Cast, Old Sheet, and Zorba 90% NF.
Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers held steady during the week.
Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices edged higher on the Index.
The prices of the region’s majority of scrap aluminum categories declined week over week.
The scrap categories to dip the most were E.C. Aluminum Wire and 6063 Extrusions/Fe, whose prices recorded declines by 4.20% and 4.17% respectively over the previous week. 6061 Extrusions prices recorded fall from $0.74 per Lb to $0.71 per Lb, registering a weekly decline of 4.05%.

Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers recorded no change in prices during the week.
Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices were up by 2.48% and 2.76% respectively on the Index.
The Chinese aluminum scrap prices exhibited mixed trend on the Index.
The scrap categories to record largest declines were 6063 Extrusions, Old Cast and Old Sheet. The prices of all of the above commodities registered week-on-week decline by 0.27% each. The prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire were down by 0.25%.
Also, Aluminum ingots prices witnessed a week-on-week decline of 0.24%. The prices of the commodity dropped from CNY 20,850 per MT at the start of the week to end the week at CNY 20,800 per MT. Please find below the weekly price chart of the commodity.
Meanwhile, the prices of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC and Zorba 90% NF held steady on the Index during the week ended March 27, 2025.
The prices of scrap aluminum utensils saw nominal decline during the week ending on March 27, 2025.
The prices of Aluminum utensil scrap were down by 3.20% week-on-week to end at INR 242,000 per Ton. The weekly price chart of the commodity is as follows:
The prices of Aluminum ingots also registered decline by 3.09%, falling from INR 259,000 per Ton to INR 251,000 per Ton on the Index during the week.
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) remained constant during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,575.50 per tonne as of March 27, 2025. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract inched lower marginally from $2,600.00 a day before to $2,557.00 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined marginally over the previous day to close at 469,575 tonnes on March 27, 2025, down slightly from 473,100 tonnes on March 26, 2025.
