SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide aluminum scrap metal markets for the past one-week period (March 7 to March 13, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
The regional aluminum scrap prices witnessed increase over the prior week. However, a few commodities held steady.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators/Fe reported the largest increase on the Index. The other scrap commodities to witness notable jump in prices were Al/Cu Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery.
Prices for Al/Cu Radiators/Fe increased by 2.96% from the previous week. From $1.69 per pound at the beginning of the week, prices increased by $0.05 per pound to close at $1.74 per pound on the Index.

The price of Al/Cu Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery increased as well, by 2.63% and 2.50%, respectively.
The only aluminum scrap commodities to maintain previous week price levels were Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers.
The regional scrap aluminum prices mostly edged higher when compared with the prior week. The top three gainers were Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Al/Cu Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery.
The prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire, 6063 Extrusions, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Chrome Wheels, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, , UBC, Zorba 90% NF, and Litho Sheets also recorded increase over the previous week.
In the meantime, Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers prices held steady over the prior week.
The prices mostly reported increase when compared with the week before.
The price of Al/Cu Radiators/Fe increased 2.99% during the course of the week, from $1.67 per pound at the start of the week to $1.72 per pound at the close.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators increased by 2.66% on a weekly basis, from $1.88 per pound to $1.93 per pound in the week that ended on March 13, 2025. Below is the weekly price chart for the commodity:
Breakage 50% Recovery prices were up by 2.56% on a weekly basis.
All other aluminum scrap categories in the region saw price increases during the course of the week, with the exception of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers.
The regional prices of all scrap aluminum categories, except a few, posted week-on-week jump.
Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Al/Cu Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery recorded the highest jump in prices during the week.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators/Fe on the Index closed at $1.76 per pound, up $0.05 per pound. The commodity saw an increase of 2.92% in price week over week.
Al/Cu Radiators prices increased from $1.92 per Lb at the beginning of the week to close at $1.97 per Lb.
Prices for Breakage 50% Recovery increased by 2.44% from the previous week. The commodity's price increased from $0.41 per Lb to $0.42 per Lb over the previous week. The weekly price movement for Breakage 50% Recovery is seen in the chart below:
5052 Scrap witnessed the least increase, with prices recording nominal week-on-week rise by 0.92%.
In the meantime, prices of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers held steady upon comparison with the previous week’s price.
The aluminum scrap commodities in the region increased across the board during the week ending March 13, 2025.
6063 Extrusions, Old Cast, and Old Sheet witnessed the largest increase from the previous week’s price.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions registered an increase of 0.54% during the week. The closing price of the commodity stood at CNY 18,650 per MT, in comparison with CNY 18,550 per MT at the beginning of the week. The below chart depicts the weekly price variation in the prices of the commodity.
Aluminum Transformers and E.C. Aluminum Wire prices inched higher by0.53% and 0.51% respectively.
Aluminum Ingots, Aluminum Radiators, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF prices also increased, when compared with the week before.
The Aluminum ingots prices witnessed no variation from the prior week’s prices. The commodity’s prices held steady at INR 264,000 per Ton during the week. The weekly price chart of Aluminum ingots is provided below:
The Aluminum utensil scrap prices also flat at INR 255,000 per Ton on the ScrapMonster Index.
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) witnessed no change during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,676.00 per tonne as of March 13, 2025. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract recorded marginal decline from $2,737.00 a day before to $2,694.00 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks edged higher modestly over the previous day to close at 503,550 tonnes as of March 13, 2025, as compared with 501,825 tonnes a day before.
