Aluminum Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- July 26th, 2024

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly price trends of scrap aluminium across worldwide markets for the period from 19^th July to 25^th July, 2024 on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:

North America Prices

The prices, in general, witnessed downward trend. However, a couple of commodities held on to their previous week’s prices.

Aluminum Radiators recorded biggest decline in prices over the week, edging down from $0.36 per Lb to $0.34 per Lb. The prices of Aluminum Transformers and Aluminum Radiators/Fe too recorded significant decline, falling by 5.0% and 4.55% respectively.

Meantime, 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, 1100 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean) and MLC Clips recorded least decline in prices over the week.

USA East Coast Prices

Aluminum Radiators prices recorded biggest dip over the week, registering 5.56% decline from $0.36 per Lb to $0.34 per Lb. A notable weekly decline by 1.96% and 1.49% was seen in Aluminum Transformers and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices.

The scrap aluminium categories that recorded nominal decline in prices included 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, 1100 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean) and MLC Clips.

Meantime, prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe held steady on Index.

USA Midwest Prices

The aluminium scrap prices in the region mostly edged lower over the previous week. The top three losers were Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers and Aluminum Radiators/Fe.

The Aluminum Radiators prices ended the week at $0.34 per Lb, down from the previous week price of $0.36 per Lb.

Also, the week witnessed dip in prices of Aluminum Transformers and Aluminum Radiators/Fe to $0.19 per Lb and $0.21 per Lb respectively.

USA West Coast Prices

The aluminium scrap metal prices in the region remained weak, with prices of all except two categories recording week-on-week decline.

The scrap categories to dip the most were Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers, whose prices recorded sharp decline by 5.56% and 4.76% respectively over the previous week. Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices recorded fall from $0.23 per Lb to $0.22 per Lb.

Meantime, prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe recorded no change over the week.

China Prices

The Chinese aluminum scrap prices inched lower over the week.

E.C. Aluminum Wire scrap saw its prices decline from CNY 18,500 per MT to CNY 18,000 per MT during the week.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices too were down by 2.34% each.

Meantime, 6063 Extrusions prices dipped from CNY 17,300 a week before to CNY 16,900, falling by 2.31% over the week.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC, Zorba 90% NF and Aluminum Ingots too registered week-on-week decline.

India Prices

The Aluminum utensil scrap prices recorded decline by 6.6%, falling to INR 198,000 per Ton during the week ended 25^th July, 2024.

The prices of Aluminum ingots too were down by 6.33% during the week.

Europe Prices

The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) held steady during the week.

LME Aluminum Market Update

Meantime, the closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,276.00 per tonne as on 25^th July, 2024. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract inched lower from $2,266.00 a day before to $2,218.50 per tonne.

The LME Aluminum stocks declined marginally over the previous day to close at 947,225 tonnes on 25^th July, 2024, as compared with 948,450 tonnes on 25^th July, 2024.
