SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide aluminum scrap metal markets for the past one-week period (February 14 to February 20, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
North America Prices
The regional aluminum scrap prices witnessed increase over the prior week. However, a few commodities held steady.
The prices of Mixed Aluminum Turnings reported the largest increase on the Index. The other scrap commodities to witness notable jump in prices were Aluminum Radiators and 6063/Extrusions/Fe.
Prices for Mixed Aluminum Turnings increased by 4.17% from the previous week. From $0.48 per pound at the beginning of the week, prices increased by $0.02 per pound to close at $0.50 per pound on the Index.

The price of Aluminum Radiators and 6063/Extrusions/Fe increased as well, by 3.33% and 2.90%, respectively.
The only aluminum scrap commodities to maintain previous week price levels were Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers.
USA East Coast Prices
The regional scrap aluminum prices mostly edged higher when compared with the prior week. The top three gainers were Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Aluminum Radiators and 6063/Extrusions/Fe.
The prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire, 6063 Extrusions, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, Chrome Wheels, Mized Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, Zorba 90% NF, Aluminum Radiators, Breakage 50% Recovery, and Litho Sheets also recorded increase over the previous week.
In the meantime, Aluminum Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers prices held steady over the prior week.
USA Midwest Prices
The prices reported increase when compared with the week before.
The price of Mixed Aluminum Turnings increased 4.26% during the course of the week, from $0.47 per pound at the start of the week to $0.49 per pound at the close.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators increased by 3.45% on a weekly basis, from $0.29 per pound to $0.30 per pound in the week that ended on February 20, 2025. Below is the weekly price chart for the commodity:
6063 Extrusions/Fe prices were up by 2.94% on a weekly basis.
All other scrap categories saw price increases during the course of the week, with the exception of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers.
USA West Coast Prices
The regional prices of all scrap aluminum categories, except a few, posted week-on-week jump.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Aluminum Radiators, and 6063 Extrusions/Fe recorded the highest jump in prices during the week.
The prices of Mixed Aluminum Turnings on the Index closed at $0.50 per pound, up $0.02 per pound. The commodity saw an increase of 4.17% in price week over week.
Aluminum Radiators prices increased from $0.30 per Lb at the beginning of the week to close at $0.31 per Lb.
Prices for 6063 Extrusions/Fe increased by 2.86% from the previous week. The commodity's price increased from $0.70 per Lb to $0.72 per Lb over the previous week. The weekly price movement for 6063 Extrusions/Fe is seen in the chart below:
5052 Scrap witnessed the least increase, with prices recording nominal week-on-week rise by 1.87%.
In the meantime, prices of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers held steady upon comparison with the previous week’s price.
China Prices
The aluminum scrap commodities in the region held steady across the board during the week ending February 20, 2025.
606e Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Aluminum Ingots and Aluminum Transformers witnessed no variation from the previous week’s price.
The Aluminum Transformer prices were flat at CNY 9,350 per MT during the week. The below chart depicts the weekly price variation in the prices of the commodity.
Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF prices held steady, when compared with the week before.
India Prices
The Aluminum ingots prices witnessed a jump of 2.33% from the prior week’s prices. The weekly price chart of Aluminum ingots is provided below:
The Aluminum utensil scrap prices also were up by 2.41% week-on-week, closing at INR 245,000 per Ton on the ScrapMonster Index.
Europe Prices
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) witnessed no change during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,715.00 per tonne as of February 20, 2025. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract recorded marginal increase from $2,709.50 a day before to $2,720.00 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined modestly over the previous day to close at 543,900 tonnes as of February 20, 2025, as compared with 547,950 tonnes a day before.
