The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract inched higher from $2,285.00 a day before to $2,343.50 per tonne.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide markets for the past one-week period (April 4 to 10, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index is provided below:
There was a general downward tendency in the prices. All scrap categories, except a few, recorded decline when compared with the previous week.
The largest price drop of the week was seen in 6063 Extrusions/Fe, which recorded a decrease from $0.64 per pound to $0.62 per pound. The commodity saw a 3.13% weekly price decrease. 6061 Extrusions and Zorba 90% NF also reported modest decline in price over the previous week, falling by 2.99% and 2.94%, respectively.

Breakage 50% Recovery, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Chrome Wheels, 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and E.C. Aluminum Wire prices reported decline over the previous week.
In contrast, prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe recorded increase on the Index.
Meanwhile, Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers prices were flat when compared with the week before.
6063 Extrusions/Fe prices recorded biggest dip over the week, registering 3.13% decline from $0.64 per Lb to $0.62 per Lb. Also, modest weekly declines by 2.99% and 2.94% were seen in 6061 Extrusions and Zorba 90% NF.
The rest of the scrap aluminium categories, except a few, recorded week-over-week decline.
The least declines were seen in 5052 Scrap and E.C. Aluminum Wire.
In the meantime, prices of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers held steady during the week ending April 10, 2025.
Additionally, Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices increased on the Index.
The aluminium scrap prices in the region mostly edged lower over the previous week. The top three losers were 6063 Extrusions/Fe, 6061 Extrusions and Zorba 90% NF.
The 6063 Extrusions/Fe prices ended the week at $0.61 per Lb, down from the previous week’s price of $0.63 per Lb.
Also, the week witnessed dip in prices of 6061 Extrusions and Zorba 90% NF to $0.64 per Lb and $0.65 per Lb respectively.

The other commodities to register week-on-week dip in prices were Breakage 50% Recovery, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Chrome Wheels, 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and E.C. Aluminum Wire.
The prices of the region’s majority of scrap aluminum categories fell week over week.
The scrap categories to dip the most were 6063 Extrusions/Fe and 6061 Extrusions, whose prices recorded declines by 3.08% and 2.99% respectively over the previous week. Zorba 90% NF prices recorded fall from $0.68 per Lb to $0.66 per Lb.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe recorded increase over the previous week’s prices.
Also, Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers prices held steady when compared with the week before.
The Chinese aluminum scrap prices edged lower over the week.
The largest weekly dip in prices were seen in Old Cast and Old Sheet. The prices of both the commodities were down by 3.88% each, falling from CNY 18,050 o CNY 17,350.

6063 Extrusions witnessed a fall of 3.84% week-on-week.
The prices of Aluminumn Transformers, Zorba 90% NF, Aluminum Radiators, E.C. Aluminum Wire and Aluminum Ingots also declined over the prior week.
The least decline in prices was seen in UBC. The price of the commodity were down from CNY 12,500 per MT to CNY 12,200 per MT week-on-week, registering a fall of 2.4%.
The prices of Aluminum utensil scrap saw a little decrease of 0.88%, falling from INR 226,000 per Ton to INR 224,000 a tonne during the week ending on April 10, 2025.

The prices of Aluminum ingots also were down by 0.85% during the week.
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) remained constant during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,388.00 per tonne as of April 10, 2025. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract inched higher from $2,285.00 a day before to $2,343.50 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined over the previous day to close at 446,325 tonnes on April 10, 2025, down slightly from 449,500 tonnes on April 9, 2025.
